DIY Tapestry Shorts

I promised that I'd post a DIY  for the tapestry shorts I wore on July 4th, and here it is! It's fairly easy, and if you can hand sew, it's quite achievable, also!

Things you'll need:
Shorts
Stick Pins
Seam Ripper/X-acto Knife
Needle and Thread
Tapestry of your choice large enough to cover one side of the shorts

Let's Get Started!
(Use your seam ripper to remove the bottoms of the belt loops from the side of the shorts you wish to tapestry. I always choose the side without the zipper bulk. That way, the tapestry is much more neater, and less bulky.)

(Next, lay the fabric of your choice over the side you wish to tapestry and using the shorts as a guide, cut a rough outline that's just a little bigger than the actual shorts, that way we can roll the material under to make it look neat..as seen in the next picture.)
(Create a hem around all sides of the material by rolling underneath once.)
(Pin all around the hem so that it stays in place for sewing. Sew, either by hand or machine. And you're done! Important Tips: If you're sewing by machine, take extra care to pull the inside pockets out of the way, so that you don't sew your pocket to your shorts.)
